Renee Yoxon: Impossible: Live at Musideum
ByLike Here We Go Again, Yoxon offers a sophisticated ambiance to her performance that is classy and artful, reminiscent of Judy Garland. There is great charm in her song choice, which included the rare "Being Green" from the Muppets and Dave Frishberg's topical "Dear Bix." Linsley's pianism is fully orchestral and well suited to Yoxon's sturdy alto voice. Lerner and Lowe's "Little Prince" is delivered in a delicate "Over the Rainbow" style while the Rodgers and Hammerstein title tune is given a genius treatment with Linsley playing single harmonic notes for an entire chorus. Keeping his playing spare, Linsley progressively fills the song with assertive runs and figures.
Renee Yoxon makes magic again with Impossible: Live at Musideum
