Your new AAJ Contributor Start Page
We're created a convenient start page so you can now access the most important contributor-related links at the website from one place. Please bookmark this page as your starting point to submit articles, request CD service, upload artwork, access upcoming release information and get a sneak peek at our editorial calendar.
CDs are on the way!
Good friend and long-time jazznik Craig Baylor is helping to listen to, sort, and package music. We still have a mountain of CDs to sift through, but we're starting to gain some ground. A batch of CDs went out the other day; soon we will contact everyone that requested CDs in the last few months to confirm your mailing address and volume.
We still have 50 requests to fulfill. If you haven't submitted your request yet, please do so here.
Uploading photos and cover art
You can now upload your CD cover art and article photos to AAJ. Visit our upload page to learn how. We encourage everyone who is handy with a photo editing tool (like Photoshop) to upload their own artwork. We've included both download and upload tips to get you started. We really appreciate your help!
AAJ MP3 Download Store Launches
We launched the MP3 store on April 30th (official announcement). We're fired up about the possibilities, but realize it will take time to build a store as comprehensive as the website. Direct deals with labels, complemented by choice imports from distributors, should help build an impressive inventory before the end of the year. We also plan to build hooks from the website to the store, making it easier for readers to purchase music. Check out the store!
AAJ Live Calendar is up next
We've developed a great time-saving tool for musicians, venues, festivals and record labels. Essentially, they submit their performance dates to the AAJ calendar and we in turn, broadcast their calendar (in a variety of formats) back to their website, to their MySpace page, to their blog, etc. If you're interested in learning more about AAJ Live Calendar, click here.
Help Wanted
MP3 Download of the Day Editor: We're looking for someone to help us solicit and schedule MP3s for the Download of the Day section. Interested? Please fill out this form.
We also have several other opportunities, most of which do not require a heavy time commitment, and like everything at AAJ, can be handled within your schedule.
As always, we welcome your ideas and input. As AAJ continues to grow and reach more jazz fans, musicians, educators and industry people, your support becomes even more and more important.
Thanks for reading!
Michael Ricci
