Brian Auger: Voices Of Other Times
Auger even brings in the next generation of his own family. Daughter Savannah Auger sings on several of the ten tracks ("It Burns Me Up," "Isola Natale"). Her delivery is honest and convincing. Auger’s son, Karma Auger, is quite adept when it comes to riding the beat and offering some of his well placed chops. Listen to "Victor's Delight," for example, or the Marcus Miller composition "Splatch," which also appeared on the Miles Davis release Tutu.”
Longtime Auger followers who have seen his career through Trinity, Julie Tippetts and the Oblivion Express will not be disappointed with Voices of Other Times. The music is earthy, with bite and conviction, and constantly explores the groove. Auger's new disc is well worth repeated listening.
