Michele Anastasio.."More"..(Sell A Bit Records) Michele Anastasio is the possessor of an exquisite voice. There is clarity, a clean sound, and yes, some broadway with more than a touch of sensuality omnipresent, which only enhances her coquettish style. Alan Broadbent's arrangements add greatly to the whole mix. Anastasio's delivery is a simple message, Sing the song and let it's beauty shine, or as Michele puts it " Straight ahead and strive for tone" There is strength in beauty and on this disc it is utilized to the fullest.... "More"...This old chestnut is rewarded with a beautiful rendition done sincerely and sweetly by Anastasio with tender Guitar work by Broadbent adding to the vocal. "Embraceable You"..A soul stirrer for all the romantic's out there..A fireplace, a Cognac and this tune plus the love of your life totally emphasizes the old adage "It doesn't get any better than this" "Under Paris Skies"..This song will transport one to Paris and bring back memories to those who have traveled it's historic byways ..A Chanson D'amour which showcases the range of this fine Chanteuse, La Belle Anastasio. "A Nightingale Sang In Berkley Square"..Memory time again as this paen to love that is set in England, evokes nostalgia and tenderness. "The Look Of Love"..Pure heat with a latin beat. "When Do I think About You"..Old fashioned femininity reigns supreme in this ode to a troubled love. "That Old Black Magic".. The heat is turned up again leading up to a slick swing chorus, nice touch. "I Only Have Eyes For You"...A love song for all ages, many a lovestruck soul has reflected on this song, including this writer. Anastasio's timing is absolute and again, the message is clear. "But Not For Me"..Brightly done with a new twist. Happy tune.. "That's All"...This one requires a slow dance with maybe a kiss or two....even a tear ....Nice ending to a superb recording. Watch out for Michele Anastasio she is a talent, gift wrapped in a pretty package and a singer of songs that was born to do so...........
