Growing up in a family that disliked Jazz, but also having a great sax player as an uncle helped expose me to Jazz the right way.

I attended NYU and UCLA. I still play jazz on the weekends when I'm not reviewing concerts!

I have had 29 articles published to date and would be excited about working with All About Jazz, Michael and his great staff!

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because... I believe it's the most creative form of music in the world I was first exposed to jazz... by my uncle, a well known saxophonist I met [musician name]... Jacki DePiro, Dianne Reeves, Cory Pesaturo, Eric Marienthal, Chick Corea, Rick DePiro, Ryan Cross, David Sanborn, The best show I ever attended was... Playboy Jazz Festival, Hollywood Bowl The first jazz record I bought was... Miles Davis My advice to new listeners... Listen without interuptions, cell phones, tablets or anyone bothering you -- Jazz is PERSONAL! Or whatever else you have in mind. -- It's THE American contribution to the Music History books, it's THE most creative and MOST fulfilling music on the planet!
